A Trip to Tunis

An evening of Tunisian malouf and modern songs, performed by a trio of oud, qanun, and percussion.

A Trip to Tunis follows the Mediterranean thread that links Andalusian malouf to the popular songs of today's Tunis. The trio moves from long instrumental taqasim to well-loved refrains the audience is invited to sing along with. Doors open at 20:00; the concert includes a short informal open mic for the audience to share their talent.
